This is where you can download the Excel sheets for the backtest I am conducting.
There are two tables on this page. The first table is composed of icons that are linked to the WINZIPed files of Value Line Timeliness = 1 information and related Investor's Business Daily RS, EPS, and, where applicable, Accumulation/Distribution rankings based upon the "First Friday" technique that I use for investing simulation purposes. The second table has icons that represent downloads of data where only Value Line Timeliness = 1 information is available. Investor's Business Daily's predecessor Investor's Daily was only available back to April 9th, 1984, (ironically a "First Friday"!) so the first table are yearly sets of monthly data from 1984-1998. The 1984 year includes the three previous months where ID did not exist.
There are no current plans with continuing the research any further than 1984. Not only has the committment been too great personally to reach even the completion of the first 15 years, but other projects like the Value Line Gravedigging Project, Peter Kuperman, Brian Finny, and Jamie Gritton have created backtesting engines that with the help of second table of T=1 lists now simulate portfolios back to 1969. To begin a second campaign would be "redundant" in my opinion at this point in time. The lists, though, are valuable to a future tester that might be interested in picking up the way in the future.
Many folks were involved with the construction of this data. Thousands of man-hours and lots of personal money and resources were spent to gather this information.
